As a comprehensive art form, musical theater shows unique charm in many fields such as music, dance and drama. In recent years, with the global rise of musical theater, more and more colleges and universities have begun to pay attention to and introduce the art practice of musical theater as an important part of music education. Musical theater can not only enhance students' musical expression and interdisciplinary learning ability, but also enhance students' teamwork and communication ability, and stimulate their innovative consciousness and practical ability. This paper discusses the multiple values of musicals in music education in colleges and universities through the case study of musical education practice in colleges and universities, and puts forward the specific application strategies in curriculum, practice platform construction, teacher training, and school-enterprise cooperation and social resources integration, aiming to provide new ideas and directions for music education in colleges and universities.
