ABSTRACT
This article aims to explore the challenges faced by ideological security in the new media environment and the coping strategies of ideological and political education (IPE). By systematically analyzing the characteristics of new media environment, the connotation of ideological security, and the specific influence mechanism of new media on ideological security, this article reveals many challenges faced by ideological security in the new media era. These include the proliferation of information and the spread of false information, the diversification of values and the infiltration of western ideology, the increasing difficulty of network public opinion guidance and ideological control, and the threat of network security and ideological defense. In order to meet these challenges, this article puts forward some strategies, such as strengthening new media literacy education, innovating the contents and methods of IPE, building a network ideological security defense system, and strengthening international cooperation and exchanges. Through in-depth research, the article finds that IPE plays a key role in maintaining ideological security in the new media environment. It can improve the public's information screening ability and network self-discipline awareness, and also effectively enhance the attraction and cohesion of mainstream ideology.
