ABSTRACT
With the rapid advancement of globalization and modernization, the protection and development of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) has become an important way to inherit and promote traditional culture and maintain cultural individuality. In recent years, China has made significant achievements in the protection of ICH, gradually forming a series of ICH protection models with Chinese characteristics through the formulation of multiple policies and numerous attempts. Among them, the community participation model in the development of ICH tourism is particularly noteworthy. This article delves into the community participation model in the development of ICH tourism, aiming to achieve effective inheritance of ICH and sustainable development of the tourism industry through the active participation of community members. This model emphasizes community centeredness, closely integrating the protection of ICH with tourism development. Through the independent management and innovative practices of community members, it promotes the activation, utilization, and inheritance of ICH culture. The participation of community members can ensure the authenticity of ICH are protected. The community participation model can promote local economic development and employment of community members, achieving a win-win situation between ICH protection and tourism development.
