ABSTRACT
This article explores the significant role of chorus art in fostering a sense of community and enhancing social cohesion. Through an in-depth analysis of cultural elements embedded in various aspects such as cultural transmission, song selection, event organization, and execution, the study highlights the unique contributions of mass chorus. The findings illustrate that mass chorus, with its inherent collectivity, harmony, and expressiveness, serves as an effective medium for preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. Furthermore, it subtlety reinforces a sense of belonging and pride among participants. The selection and arrangement of chorus pieces align closely with a shared communal consciousness, communicating a profound sense of cultural confidence through the language of music. Simultaneously, it showcases reverence for cultural heritage and openness to multiculturalism, facilitating interaction and integration among individuals from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, this article presents recommendations for advancing mass chorus activities, expanding the chorus repertoire, bolstering chorus education, and organizing a variety of chorus competitions and performances. These efforts aim to further leverage the transformative power of mass chorus in fostering a strong sense of community.
