Under the background of the new era, "ideological and political curriculum" has become an important goal of education and teaching reform. As a major to cultivate students' all-round development and social and public cultural literacy, public music discipline in colleges and universities is of great significance to students' ideological and political education. "Curriculum Ideological and Political Education" is to integrate the cultivation of values into the teaching process of the subject, and achieve the purpose of professional knowledge education through various forms. The public music course in colleges and universities is a comprehensive subject that combines professional courses and basic courses organically, and has professional characteristics and social service functions at the same time. Therefore, it is particularly important to strengthen the "ideological and political curriculum" in the public music class in colleges and universities. Through in-depth discussion on how to carry out the construction and implementation of "ideological and political curriculum" in public music education in colleges and universities under the new era background, we will lay a solid foundation for the training of music talents in China.
