ABSTRACT

The sinicization and modernization of Marxist philosophy is the process by which Chinese Marxists integrate the basic principles of Marxist philosophy with China's specific realities and Chinese excellent traditional culture, and at the same time, actively draw on and absorb the essence of foreign philosophy, and use the philosophical discourse system with Chinese characteristics and Chinese style to continuously construct a sinicized and modernized Marxist philosophy. The sinicized and modernized Marxist philosophy is the inheritance, enrichment and development of Marxist philosophy. It is an important responsibility for Chinese scholars and theorists to continuously promote sinicized and modernized Marxist philosophy. Looking back on the journey of the Communist Party of China (CPC) over the past hundred years, the sinicization and modernization of Marxist philosophy have gone through four developmental phases from the "May Fourth Movement" to the present day. Throughout its history, the CPC has consistently taken Marxist philosophy as the guiding ideology for its practice. Because of the different characteristics, environments and practical tasks of each historical period of China's revolution, construction and reform, Chinese Marxists had to master and apply Marxist philosophy flexibly in accordance with the specific reality, so that the sinicized and modernized Marxist philosophy presented a unique theoretical form, and because of this, the revolution, construction and reform under the leadership of the CPC were able to achieve victories. The history of great theoretical innovation deeply enlightens us that, to keep advancing theoretical innovation on the basis of practical experience, we must adhere to integrating the basic principles of Marxist philosophy with China's specific realities and Chinese excellent traditional culture, and adhere to a people-centered approach.
