Teachers should be good at taking activities as the carrier, so that students can constantly discover and improve themselves in the activities, so as to complete the high-quality growth of inner thought quality. The excellent traditional culture of China is rooted in the land of China, where the ancestors lived for generations, so carrying out cultural root-seeking activities for local culture will help the characteristic culture to be passed down better. This paper proposes the organic integration of local culture with the subject of textbooks, the development of cultural root-seeking activities in the ideological and political thinking of higher vocational English courses, and elaborates the details of the development of cultural root-seeking activities from three aspects of activity preparation, activity conduction and activity expansion, so as to promote the gradual growth of students' thoughts and maintain cultural self-confidence.
