ABSTRACT

The reform of English teaching in higher vocational colleges should not only solve the problems of poor student quality and poor learning enthusiasm in the teaching process, but also pay attention to the education of students' professional quality, skills, and comprehensive ability, to help students enhance their professional competitiveness. Through literature analysis, we understand the current research status of scholars on the reform of English teaching in higher vocational colleges. By making statistics and systematic clustering on the frequency of the reform countermeasures of English teaching in higher vocational colleges, we can identify the core, necessary, and general countermeasures. After conducting a comparative analysis of the reform countermeasures, we know that curriculum, classroom teaching, and teaching conceptual reform should be paid attention to in the process of English teaching reform in higher vocational colleges.
