New-quality productivity is the transformation of traditional productivity to adapt to the new stage of development. Based on the relevant data of 27 provinces and cities in China from 2010 to 2022, this paper establishes a benchmark regression model to empirically analyse the correlation between energy consumption and economic growth in China. From the perspective of new quality productivity, the decline of GDP has an obvious promotion effect on economic growth. On this basis, from the perspective of new quality productivity, policy suggestions are provided to promote the structural transformation of China's energy consumption and achieve high-quality development.
